What is ASDA District 1?

The American Student Dental Association (ASDA) is a national student-run organization that protects and advances the rights, interests and welfare of dental students. It introduces students to lifelong involvement in organized dentistry and provides services, information, education, representation and advocacy.

There are 66 chapters across the United States, which are grouped into 11 districts, each represented by a trustee. District 1 represents 5 dental schools within Maine, Connecticut, and Massachusetts:

University of New England College of Dental Medicine

University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine

Harvard School of Dental Medicine

Tufts University School of Dental Medicine

Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine

District 1 is committed to the health and wellness of each of our members, this includes advocacy, wellness, and professional development.

ASDA advocacy relies on the strength of a collective voice. Learn about the issues facing the dental profession and how to get involved.

Be Well

ASDA’s Wellness Initiative encourages you to make well-being a priority with a focus on five dimensions of your life. Wellness stems from finding a balanced way of addressing all of them, as needed.

Sometimes, the life skills needed to be a successful business owner, team leader, and people manager aren’t taught in dental school. ASDA is here to help, you can find things to help you grown at a school, district, and national level.
