With easy access by the MBTA, Manchester by the Sea is within 50 miles of Boston and is known for scenic beaches, harbors, and vista points. Walk past the harbor to arrive at Singing beach, where the sand “sings” (squeaks) as you walk on it.

Portland Head Light and Fort Williams Park
Portland Head Light is Maine’s oldest lighthouse, and it marks the entrance to Casco Bay. One of the most photographed lighthouses in the world. Visit nearby Two Lights State Park on Cape Elizabeth. Stop by The Lobster shack for some lobster rolls!

Killington, Vermont 
Some spectacular hiking and biking trails through the Northern sections of the Appalachian Trail. Take a scenic gondola ride up and see the summit of Killington Peak.
